Esme Allen Large Bay Window In the Kitchen

The Challenge:
The Dining table is set in the bay window, however in summer Esme and family are blinded by the sun, not great for entertaining guests either! In cooler months it is really chilly sitting here as there are draughts from the windows and a real chill from such a large area of glass.
The Solution:
It was important to still keep the views and an open feel to this lovely inviting dining area, curtains could have been an option but once drawn to shield them from the sun all views would be lost so we opted for Interlined Roman blinds, putting a blind in each widow allows the family to shade each window as needed and to drop the blind to just the right height allowing them to still enjoy the views and yet not be blinded by the sun. Using a heavier than normal Interlining and thermal lining the blinds really do help to keep the family much warmer in winter.
What Esme Said:
‘Fiona made blinds for me for my spare bedroom and for the large bay windows in my kitchen. I had a huge choice of material and Fiona brought large samples and to see how the material would look in the room. It is evident from the results that Fiona is a highly skilled, professional seamstress. I was delighted with the finished blinds and could not recommend her highly enough’.
